The original blend of Bach Viña Extrísima Seco Blanco, with Chardonnay complemented by Xarel·lo, Macabeo and Moscato, results in a dry white wine with character that fills the palate with freshness. The varieties are vinified separately and the coupage is harmonious. The first Bach wine acquired the name "Extrísimo" because of how it was known in 1915 to the first quality cotton from Egypt and India, used by the first owners of the Bach winery, the Pere brothers and Ramon Bach, in their passed as cotton merchants.

The Winery

The Bach winery has very long tradition of winemaking, with a history that goes back to 1915 in Sant Esteve Sesrovires (in the province of Barcelona).  However, it was not until the Universal Exhibition in Barcelona in 1929 that the first bottles were launched.  Many years have passed since then, but the winery remains steadfast in its faithful adherence to the original spirit of the winery: quality, originality and personality in all of the wines and cavas that it makes.

Elaboration - Vinification

Viña Extrísima Seco undergoes a traditional winemaking process.

Viña Extrísima Seco undergoes a traditional winemaking process: after crushing, de-stemming and pressing, the juice is clarified off solids and adjusted to specifications prior alcoholic fermentation which takes place under temperature control (18 ºC) over approximately 15 days. The varietals are processed separately, thus permitting an adequate blend for Viña Extrísima Seco. The blended, clarified and stabilised wine is then kept in stainless steel tanks until it is bottled.

Vineyard - Viticulture

Our white grapes come mostly from the upper Penedés.

Our white grapes come mostly from the upper Penedés, where the Xarel·lo and Muscat varieties have their maximum expression thanks to their less fertile soils and the high thermal oscillation between day and night. The Chardonnay comes from the area of Costers de Segre, where the wines that are made have a lot of freshness and vivacity.
