This special edition is the result of a selection made by the winemaker of Bodegas Bilbaínas. Bilbaínas. 90% Tempranillo, 5% Garnacha and 5% Graciano, aged for 20 months in French and American oak barrels. The label design has recovered the same blue blue color of Bilbao, the city that gives its name to Bodegas Bilbaínas.

Founded in 1901 in the town of Haro’s legendary Station Quarter, Bodegas Bilbaínas is the longest-standing bottling winery in Rioja. It also has the most extensive underground cellars in the region and a greater area of vineyards than any other winery in the town: 250 hectares of high quality vines, which supply the winery with its own grapes, ensuring that they can be processed quickly without losing their qualities. Viña Pomal is its flagship brand, which embodies the Rioja Alta's best winemaking tradition. These are exceptional wines that have remained faithful to the classic style of authentic Rioja from the outset.
A personal selection of the winemaker among the best wines of Viña Pomal. Fermentation with indigenous yeasts at 28ºC-30 ºC and a total maceration of 23 days.
Aged for 20 months in American oak barrels (85%) and French oak (15%). One third of the barrels are new. During this time, racking allows us to clean the wine by natural decanting. After its time in barrel, the wine remained in bottle for two years before being released to the market.
The Viña Pomal estate consists of 90 hectares of vineyards.

Rioja estate according to the variability of the soil and solar exposure, which translates into an exhaustive work of selection of homogeneous areas. The viticulture applied is a mixture of traditional Rioja viticulture and precision viticulture, resulting in a viticulture that is committed to innovation in order to protect nature, always under the parameters of maximum quality.
