The Winery
The Tionio winery, located in Pesquera de Duero, produces wines seeking the best expression of each vintage, both in Ribera del Duero and in Rueda. For the Romans, "a Tionio wine" meant "the purest" and that is the essence and objective of the winery: purity. Tionio is a unique viticultural project, in which the yields are abnormally low and a higher level of selection is required to achieve this frankness in the wines.

Grapes originating from Finca La Asperilla is situated in the municipiality of Peñafiel at 800 metres altitude. Chalky and gravel soils dominate in this area. The vines were planted in 1994, trelissed and within a 2.2 × 1.2 metre framework, obtaining a plant density of 3,800 vines/Ha.
