The Winery
The Tionio winery, located in Pesquera de Duero, makes wines that seek to show the best expression of each vintage, both in Ribera del Duero and Rueda. For the Romans, the purest wine was "a wine from Tionio," and this is the winery's essence and objective: purity. Tionio is a unique viticultural project, in which the yields are unusually low and the level of selection high to ensure that the wines are precise and well defined.
Elaboration - Vinification
Controlled temperature fermentation.
Controlled temperature fermentation and long macerations in 12,500 liters steel tanks.
Vineyard - Viticulture
Tinta fina: 50% from our vineyard La Asperilla and 50% from old vineyards from Pedrosa de Duero and Olmedillo de Roa.
Tinta fina: 50% from our vineyard La Asperilla and 50% from old vineyards from Pedrosa de Duero and Olmedillo de Roa. It is located in the town of Peñafiel at 800m of altitude. Predominance of clayey and gravel soils. Vines were planted in 1994, trellised using the cordon royat system and distance between rows and vines of 2.2 × 1.2 m, resulting in a density of plantation of 3,700 vines/Ha.
