The Winery

The Raventós de Alella winery is located among the old vines and forests towards the interior of the coastal mountain range that divides the D.O. Alella. Since 1981, the year when the first vintage was made, the winery's philosophy has always been to extract the very best possibilities from a grape variety that genuinely belongs to the area: Pansa Blanca. The innovative, cutting-edge and international character of the winery has resulted in wines that are in constant evolution, maintaining the maximum respect for the natural materials and the identity of the area.

Elaboration - Winemaking

Pressing of the whole grape and part of the must macerated in cold with the skins to maximize the extraction of aromas.

Very slow fermentation at a controlled temperature of 16ºC.

Vineyard - Viticulture

Alella is characterized by a sandy-textured soil known as sauló. It is a nutrient-poor soil with low water retention and a moderate pH.

The planting density is 3,700 vines/ha, with a planting framework of 2.2 x 1.2 meters. The vines are trained on trellises, while the older ones are grown as bush vines, and we perform short pruning. The 2022 vintage was marked by higher temperatures during grape growth and ripening, combined with a summer of low rainfall, causing significant stress to the vines. It was a low-yielding vintage, producing wines that are ripe and full-bodied.
