The sun bathes Raimat's vineyards. The continental climate is so marked, and it is conditioned by the rays of sun in the estate. Solana, tribute to that fact, is a soft and creamy wine, with floral and white fruit notes.

View

Pale yellow with very greenish hues that denote its youth and freshness.

Nose

Very subtle but clear and persistent aromas. Notes such as lemon, or lime, come from the Albariño variety as opposed to the more mature and tropical, such as grapefruit, pear and pineapple, characteristics of the chardonnay variety. At the end of the nose we find floral touches that bring balance.

Palate

Soft entry wine and medium body. A fleshy and structured wine thanks to the Chardonnay varietal with a long and fresh finish from the Albariño. The flavours that appear on the palate are mainly reminiscent of white fruit with a fresh tangy finish.

The Winery

The history of Raimat goes back to 1914, when Manuel Raventós i Domènech acquired a plot of arid and unfertile land in a unique setting, converting it into what it is today: 2,245 hectares of 100% certified organic vineyards.  Raimat is the expression of wines from Lleida, a land renowned for the quality of its fruit, where the continental climate means that the grapes from this estate give intense and flavourful wines.  The winery is a pioneer in the use of the latest growing and winemaking technology, making a clear commitment to sustainable viticulture and to respecting the land and the environment.

Elaboration - Vinification

After pressing, the must was passed through a cold exchanger and cooled to below 10 ºC so that static decanting could take place whilst preserving its full primary aromas. The clear must was then racked into a stainless steel tank with a cooling system where it underwent fermentation at a controlled temperature of 14 ºC for 2 or 3 weeks. Once alcoholic fermentation was completed the wines were poured (always along with carbonic gas) into tanks to prevent oxidization. The two grape varietals were vinified separately. After fermentation and clarification we proceeded to make the final blend.

Vineyard - Viticulture

We could consider the 2019 vintage as one of the best in the last 20 years.

We could consider the 2019 vintage as one of the best in the last 20 years. The health has been excellent. This is especially appreciated in a year where the Raimat vines are grown organically. Total absence of pests and diseases.
Summer has been dry and not particularly hot, except for a small heat wave at the end of the season. The ripening season, the most important, has been exceptional. Almost absolute absence of rains and markedly cold nights, which has allowed each vine to be harvested at its optimum point. The whites started as in a normal year in early September for still wines. Thanks to this favorable climate, our whites are fresh and very fruity, with intense primary aromas, a reflection of that health and good maturation. At the productive level it could be considered a normal year.
