Every great winery has its iconic wine. Abadia represents the essence of Raimat. It is the oldest wine brand in the Costers del Segre Designation of Origin. Raimat Abadia White Organic is the fruit of this policy in its ultimate expression, applying organic practices from the vineyard to the glass.

A perfect pairing with chicken dishes, fresh salads, fish, rice and pasta dishes.
View

Pale yellow with very greenish hues that denote its youth and freshness.

Nose

Very subtle but clear and persistent aromas. Appear notes such as lime, come from the Albariño variety as opposed to the more mature and tropical, such as grapefruit, pear and pineapple, characteristics of the chardonnay variety. At the end of the nose we find floral touches that bring balance.

Palate

Soft entry wine and medium body. A fleshy and structured wine thanks to the Chardonnay varietal with a long and fresh finish from the Albariño. The flavours that appear on the palate are mainly reminiscent of white fruit with a fresh tangy finish.

The Winery

The history of Raimat goes back to 1914, when Manuel Raventós i Domènech acquired a plot of arid and unfertile land in a unique setting, converting it into what it is today: 2,245 hectares of 100% certified organic vineyards.  Raimat is the expression of wines from Lleida, a land renowned for the quality of its fruit, where the continental climate means that the grapes from this estate give intense and flavourful wines.  The winery is a pioneer in the use of the latest growing and winemaking technology, making a clear commitment to sustainable viticulture and to respecting the land and the environment.

Elaboration - Vinification

Grapes come from our own ecological vineyards in which we do not use herbicides.

The grapes come from our own ecological vineyards in which we do not use herbicides on the plant covers nor do we apply mechanical actions that remove the soils. Yields are lower and plant treatments are less aggressive, although they require more frequent monitoring. The grape is harvested overnight, a fact that allows it to reach low temperatures, to avoid unwanted oxidation. After pressing, the must goes through a cold exchanger until it reaches a temperature below 10 ºC to carry out a static clarification and at the same time preserve the primary aromas. The clean must is transferred to a stainless steel tank with a refrigeration system for controlled fermentation at 16 ºC for 2 or 3 weeks. Once the alcoholic fermentation is finished, we rack the wines (always with carbon dioxide in the tanks to avoid oxidation). The two varieties of grapes are vinified separately. Once the fermentation is finished and the wines clarified, we proceed to make the coupage.

Vineyard - Viticulture

This is a harvest of great quality; the aromas and freshness of the white grapes are magnificent.

Although the constant in Raimat is usually consistency in weather conditions, this year has been atypical. After the adversities that the beginning of spring presented with heavy rains, we had a very favorable climate afterwards, with mild temperatures and no rain that allowed both early and late varieties to be harvested in optimal conditions. This is a harvest of great quality; the aromas and freshness of the white grapes are magnificent.
